The year 1947 was a game changer in the history of fashion and the beginning of what is known as the "New Look" Era.  In February of that year Dior debuted his "Corolle" line - voluptious styles employing generous amounts of fabric as opposed to the austere, fabric-rationed styles of the WWII Era. The collection was dubbed the "New Look" by Carmel Snow, the then editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar.
With the War being over, fashion manufacturers and designers shifted in high gear and advertised to let the world know - as evidenced by the abundance of  ads in this spectacular 1947 issue of Harper's Bazaar.

There are 304 pages in this November 1947 issue.
